On 20 February 2012, we have been given a notice by the Town Council to have us removed from this apartment where we call home. The authority wants us to be removed within 14 days! In Malaysia, we are not allowed to live in apartments and condominiums.

We have requested from the authority for an extension of time so that we can look for a place to move to. We have been very lucky as we have found a place and we'll be moving away from here in the next one or two months' time. So, we'll be busy these couple of months packing our stuff. We may not be able to blog during this time but if we have any updates, we'll try to do a post.

Here in Australia - if you live in an apartment or "unit" you are (most times) not allowed dogs, but may be allowed one cat if it's prior approved by the group that run the apartment block. Some may allow a dog - but if it becomes a problem with others complaining and such, the permissions can be removed. If you own a house, or a dwelling with some land, dogs are allowed but the councils will dictate how many. Again, if your pets become a problem there can be repercussions or fines.

I'm sorry you have to move. That doesn't seem right that the government can tell you that you can't live there anymore. I'm glad you've already found a place to stay and I wish you luck with the move.

ReplyDeleteYikes! So glad you found a new home! A friend of mine owns her home but the subdivision it is in only allows three pets. Strange how rules infiltrate our homes!
